Eelam Tamil Association (Australasia) was formed in November 1977 with the aim of helping Tamils living in Sri Lanka and Australasia. Association's key objectives are preservation, protection and promotion of the rights of Tamils living in Australia and in Sri Lanka. The political awakening of the Tamil people in Sri Lanka and their continuing struggle for the right to self-determination, were reflected in the association's own evolution through the 80's and 90's.

Today Eelam Tamil Association is continuing their support for the displaced, refugees and orphans in Tamil Eelam. In Australia, Eelam Tamil Association remains the key Tamil organistion representing social, cultural and political needs of Australian Tamils. In addition, ETA is a founding member of Australasian Federation of Tamil Association, which unites key Tamil Organisations in Australasia.

Throughout the year, Eelam Tamil Association undertakes several fund raising activities to support Association's objectives. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Association or would like to assist us in our activities please feel free to contact the Association.
